The news is out, Tom Hardy is set to star as Eddie Brock in #Venom, the upcoming film from Sony’s Marvel Universe releasing October 5 2018.
Known for his great character roles, Tom Hardy is really a stroke of genius for the casting agents, bringing him back into the superhero universe after his successful portrayal as Bane in Christopher Nolan’s, The Dark Knight Rises.
For many it’s surprising to see Hardy agreeing to another superhero-based role, but he’s admitted to being a fan of the character and thinks there’s something to work with.
It must be true as Tom Hardy was due to star in the 2016 Suicide Squad film but dropped out due to lack of faith in the project. Although many fans are nervous about this production as it is lead by Sony, not Marvel, Hardy’s involvement and belief in the story is bringing about some reassurances in the treatment and tone.
Who is Venom?
Venom, or the Venom Symbiote, is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics, commonly in association with Spider-Man. The alien symbiote requires a human host to live and bestows great powers with little responsibility.
Previously only given a side-villian role in Sam Raimi’s, Spiderman 3, fans are eager to see the character centre-stage in a role of his own.
With production starting this fall, everyone is excited to see how Hardy will transform into the great anti-hero. Currently there are no official imagery of how the character could appear, but we discovered this great fan-made image and it’s got us pretty thrilled to see what the final outcome will look like.
This Is What Tom Hardy Could Look Like As Venom
We will await with baited breath for official artwork, but for now, this image definitely seems to be hitting the spot.
