Adele’s new album 25, smashes UK and US records

Adele has smashed records following the release of her new album 25.  Neilson Music data reported sales of a staggering 3.38 million copies in the U.S.

The album which sold more than 3 million copie’s in the first week, was released stateside on the 20th of November. Album sales eclipsed the 1.8 million copie’s sold of  Taylor Swift’s 1989 to become the biggest selling  U.S. record of 2015.

Adele also smashed records in the U.K too, as 25 passed previous record holder’s Oasis for largest first week sales. Oasis’s album ‘Be Here Now’ took 696,000 in its opening week in 1997, whereas 25 took 737,000.

The album sold more copie’s than all 86 albums in the chart combined selling more than 800,000 in the first week.

Adeles current record ‘Hello’ is being hailed as the ‘Hottest song in the word’, with ten’s of million’s of view’s on youtube. 2015 has been an incredible year for Adele with her comeback being nothing short of monumental.
